Story behind Nobby the Aardvark on tape seems to be uncommon

Post by DaveT »

Hi,

It seems that Nobby the Ardvark , the last Thalamus game, seems to be very uncommon and so far I've never seen one available. Were they ever produced? Was it recalled for some reason? How can it be that the disk version came out and the tape not? Could it be that I'm just not looking in the right places?
Thanks for any enlightenment on this case,

David

I see the disk version quite frequently actually, and especially on eBay.

The tape version however I still need. In fact it's the only one I am still after (I have every other C64 Thalamus game on tape and disk in my collection).

Never seen it on tape myself.

My disk version was ordered directly from Thalamus, and took several months to arrive (in a badly battered condition as well).

My copy arrived from Thalamus as well, as a review copy per my Oracle Teletext work. A lot better condition by the sounds of it ;)

(and probably months earlier as I think I got many of the Thalamus titles before they reached the shops)

Incidentally, does a complete list of Thalamus releases exist, or can you list them here? :D

I´ve got:

Sanxion
Delta
Quedex
Hunter´s Moon
Armalyte
Nobby the Ardvark
Hawkeye

I´m probably missing a couple.

EDIT: Oops! Nevermind. I just found the list myself.

Someone's got a Nobby on tape on eBay currently. Anyone else interested in it, you're gonna lose ;)

Maybe once I'm done, I'll take a pic of them all for here...

I have the demo of Nobby the Aardvark, where he's in a balloon, does that count? Also, didn't Thalamus do Creatures and Summer and Winter Camp? *^_^* \m/

Speaking of Thalamus, anyone know where some of the Thalamus people are now? I'm thinking of Andrew Wright, Paul Cooper, Dave Birch...

I don't know, but I wonder if Dave Birch still has his Astra GTE that the Rowlands would often mention...?
