Musical Similarities

Post by peteroddan »

A week or so ago, I was playing some old C64 games on an emulator, one of them being Thing on a Spring - the music had been stuck in my head ever since!

Today, I was in the car, when Plug in Baby by Muse came onto the radio - for a few seconds the Thingy theme in my head and the Muse song on the radio merged into one!

Anyone see the similarity?
Anyone noticed any others?
Does Rob Hubbard have a viable copyright case (and if he does, and Rob if you're reading this, I'd like a small percentage of the pay out!)

Apologies for the necro..

This one passed me by originally, very interesting article and the associated You Tube song comparisons.

Timbaland, such blatant stealing!

As a comment on one of the You Tube videos said:

Sample = "take a few second of a song and make a new song from it"
Plagiarism = "take whole song and record new vocals and drums over it and call it your own."
