Wishing Iain, "The Professor", and all others Very Festivus season.
We put up our Festivus Pole and are celebrating.
I sure wish "The Newman" was around to read this because he would understand Festivus more than the rest of us.
Signed
The Doc

Re: Happy Festivus
Ah yes. The festival of commercialisation based on the misplaced birth date of a person who may not have existed, which was switched to winter to lessen the grip of pagan rituals.
Try fitting that on a Hallmark card.
Enjoy the festive season.

I can see why they generally go for the "Merry Christmas" / "Happy Holidays" thing!Professor Brian Strain wrote:Ah yes. The festival of commercialisation based on the misplaced birth date of a person who may not have existed, which was switched to winter to lessen the grip of pagan rituals.

Festivus
The Festivus season has already started and is upon us. There are Christmas junk for sale in the stores already and There will be a Black Friday and Internet Monday very soon. Receiving Junk Mail with gift ideas in the mail box.
Will start looking for a Festivus pole. We like to roam the woods and find and cut one of our own.
Is it acceptable to decorate the pole and if so do you guys have any suggestions?

Re: Festivus
The bringing of greenery into the home during Winter was a pagan tradition, in the hopes of surviving until the new green of Spring emerged. And many pagan rituals involved blood sacrifices.drcrypto wrote:The Festivus season has already started and is upon us. So slaughter a delivery driver and arrange his limbs tastefully on strings from the pole?
Re: Happy Festivus
That sounds like an excellent plan.
I knew that I could depend on a suggestion from "The Professor".
